Calathea Zebrina has striking and ornamental leaves with bright green zebra-like stripes on a velvety dark green background.
This will add a bold, colourful and highly decorative element to your collection.
Needs plenty of bright light however direct sunlight will cause the leaves to fade and lose their markings. They can tolerate some degree of shade, but the better the light conditions, the more the variegation. Calathea prefer moist soil but do not allow the roots to sit in water. Little and often is a good watering policy for this one.
Prefers warmth and high humidity levels. Avoid draughts and stand it on a wet pebble tray to improve humidity. Mist frequently or pop it in the shower room or kitchen for extra moisture. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust. Do not use leaf shine as this will damage the foliage.
